Headquartered in State College, PA, Phospholutions is growing our team to support the global expansion of RhizoSorb® technology following multiple years of successful field trials, three decades of academic research, and backed by leading industry investors, with a Global Regulatory Affairs Manager. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates who are within the Saint Petersburg, FL or State College, PA areas.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The individual hired for this position will be accountable for leading the Company’s domestic and international regulatory affairs including the management of product registrations and re-registrations while ensuring the compliance of global import/export requirements. This position will be the point of contact for regulatory compliance and will work alongside our R&D and Commercial teams and will play an instrumental role in the company’s success.

JOB OBJECTIVE

Among other responsibilities, this position requires the knowledge, skills and ability to understand and execute the following:
- Managing domestic and international fertilizer regulatory affairs activities
- Product registrations, re-registrations and renewals
- Product labeling and documentation
- Compliance reporting across multiple jurisdictions
- Regulatory compliance for new product launches, including registration and documentation requirements worldwide
- Monitor evolving domestic and international regulations affecting the fertilizer industry; assess business impacts and implement necessary actions
- Execution of market-specific regulatory strategies
- Tailored regulatory strategies for each market that ensure compliance while enabling the Company to introduce innovative solutions within the fertilizer commodity sector
- Compliance of domestic and global requirements
- Oversee import/export compliance requirements for raw materials and finished goods, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), labeling, tonnage reporting, and tariffs
- Support marketing and technical claims, including enhanced efficiency fertilizer (EEF) claims and secondary mode of action claims
- Internal and external collaboration
- Lead and coordinate external consultants to ensure timely and accurate submissions, strategic support, and timely compliance globally
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, industry partners, and consultants while supporting internal stakeholders on trials, market timing, and business development to ensure compliance
- Collaboration with General Counsel on legal and regulatory matters, including contracts, agreements, and international trade regulations
- Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and training programs related to regulatory compliance
- Support cross-functional teams with guidance on regulatory and legal requirements for product development, labeling, packaging, marketing claims, and international market entry
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of direct regulatory affairs experience in the fertilizer or agrochemical industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related field from an accredited university or college; advanced degree or legal background preferred
- Experience working with various regulatory authorities both domestically and internationally
- Experience managing regulatory consultants
- Familiarity with legal contracts, compliance policies, corporate governance, and international trade regulations is preferred
- Fluent in other languages to assist in improved communications with external international partners and clients preferred but not required
- Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, continuous basis. This company does not sponsor applicants for work visas
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Self-motivation and drive to exceed goals while working effectively with minimal direction
- Critical thinking, problem solving and deductive and inductive reasoning
- “Day-1 Expert-level” proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate across cultures and regulatory systems
- Strong project and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, internal teams, and external consultants
- Strong knowledge of domestic and global fertilizer regulations (EPA, state-level fertilizer regulations, EU, Canada, LATAM, etc.)
- Strong understanding of legal and compliance principles within a corporate and international environment to contribute to the company’s strategic objectives
- This position will require some travel to industry/company events and field sites – 10 to 25%
- Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company
- If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards
- The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- When onsite at production/supplier facilities, the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, or face shields may be required. This could include contact lenses not being worn in some areas in or around confined spaces with some exposure to chemicals, grease, and oils, fumes and/or other compounds
