JOB DESCRIPTION

The perception software engineer will develop and improve perception algorithms for new and existing products. We are looking for an engineer that understands LiDAR and how to get the most out of the data via AI or heuristic algorithms. This position reports directly to the VP, Software Engineering. It will involve a lot of independent research and development but you will also work within a supportive team atmosphere.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform literature reviews for LiDAR perception algorithms and AI
• Develop and justify algorithm designs
• Prototype and test perception software
• Write high-quality, well-documented code
• Perform peer code reviews
• Write unit tests
• Fix bugs

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of C++ programming and debugging
• Algorithm development for 3D data, preferably LiDAR
• Experience with PCL, OpenCV or other computer vision libraries
• Experience with neural networks for 3D data
• Familiarity with ROS

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field (MS or PhD, preferred)

Salary Range: 120K - 160K + Equity
