Technical Sales Representative - (Agronomy and Farmer Engagement)

Job Purpose
Tropic is scaling a new generation of elite banana seedlings and with this we are looking for Technical Sales Representatives to drive farmer adoption, manage field engagement, and develop further business, contributing to future sales generation. This role would ideally suit someone with an agronomy background and agricultural sales experience.
Responsibilities
- Build pipeline
of farmers, plantations and cooperatives.
- Conduct farmer meetings, field visits, demos, and product education.
- Provide agronomic guidance on planting and early-stage management.
- Develop demonstration plots and gather performance data.
- Map banana-growing areas and identify high-value grower segments.
- Educate growers on royalty-linked models where relevant.
- Maintain CRM discipline and accurate forecasting.
- Work with R&D, agronomy, and supply chain teams.
- Represent the company in local agriculture events.
- In time, generate
new sales leads and develop business to grow sales revenue
Requirements
- Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, or Plant Science.
- 5–10+ years field experience working with farmers.
- Proven agricultural sales experience.
- Ability to run demos, diagnose issues, and communicate technical concepts.
- Strong farmer networks and understanding of local agriculture.
- Willingness to travel and work in rural/agricultural environments.
- Desirable: Experience with banana cultivation, tissue culture, or TR4/Sigatoka knowledge.
- Desirable: Experience with licensing or royalty models.
